The Panch Kedar refers to five sacred Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Garhwal Himalayan region of Uttarakhand. According to legend, after the Kurukshetra war, the Pandavas sought Lord Shiva's blessings for redemption. Lord Shiva, trying to avoid them, took the form of a bull and dived into the ground. Different parts of his body appeared at five locations, which became the Panch Kedar temples.
The five temples are: Kedarnath (the hump), Madhyamaheshwar (the navel),Tungnath (the arms), Rudranath (the face), and Kalpeshwar (the hair/jata).
